If you're looking for picture perfect photo inspiration for an Idaho elopement, this fishing elopement in North Idaho is it! Kayla and Jace were such a fun couple to work with! I first met them back in October of the previous year for their engagement photos! They wanted to elope on this property, so we also took their engagement photos there so they could show me around! Come May, it was time for their intimate day in the forests near St. Marie's Idaho, and together we planned the most perfect outdoorsy spring elopement! Kayla and Jace wanted to include wildflowers, fishing, and their beautiful golden pup Clover (because what day isn't complete with bringing your furry best friend)?! Let's take a closer look at the details that made up their day - the epitome of an Idaho elopement!

Kayla's Floral Embellished Wedding Dress
Kayla's dress was seriously one of my favorite wedding dresses of the year that I got to photograph! The embellished leaves up top suited the time of year for their elopement perfectly. The slit in the gown made it the perfect dress to show off her adorable floral boots - and slits are also great for adventuring since we had to hike a little ways down to the river later on in the day! I'm just so obsessed with dresses that have the details of nature on them.
This Huxley flowy dress was designed by Made with Love Bridal from the Honest in Ivory shop in Spokane, WA.
First Look & Private Vows Amongst the Trees
After Kayla got into her stunning gown, we made our way over to a clearing for their first look and private vows - and of course Clover tagged along! They shared this sweet and intimate moment together amongst the trees right before their ceremony, which I love because you get a moment alone together to get those nervous jitters out!
Forest Bridals
Before the ceremony, we had a few minutes to spare so I decided to take some forest bridals of Kayla and Jace to document some more of their stunning forest elopement details. Kayla's bouquet was the perfect mix of florals by Dragon Flower Design for a spring elopement! Her nails by Ashlee complemented the bouquet too! And last but not least, Kayla's makeup and half up hairstyle by Ashley Cook completed the entire look!
Ceremony with a Tree Root Arbor
In the planning stages, Kayla had mentioned getting married in front of a downed tree which had a stunning root system in view for their arbor. She sent me all the updates throughout the winter hoping the area for their ceremony wasn't going to get logged - and luckily it wasn't! They were able to find this unique tree and use it for the backdrop of their intimate ceremony with their family.
Off Road Bridals with their Tacoma
One of my favorite parts of the day! After the ceremony, we took their Toyota Tacoma down a long dirt road to their fishing spot they picked out. When we got out the tires and sides of the truck were covered in some mud, so naturally I asked if they wanted some photos in front of it, and I'm so happy they said yes! Little moments like this help me to document my client's adventure, which is so fun for them to look back on later when they receive their gallery.
Fishing and Picnic on the St. Marie's River
This is what I mean when this elopement was the epitome of an Idaho elopement - they included fishing! I've always wanted to document a couple fishing in their wedding gear, so this checked that off my list. It was so fun to hike down after their riverside picnic and take photos of one of their favorite activities!
Lake Coeur d'Alene Sunset Bridals
After fishing for a little while, we drove back up to Fine Brewed in Coeur d'Alene for a little reception with their friends and family. Here they shared first dances and desserts with everyone, and then we went out on the Coeur d'Alene boardwalk and took some lakeside sunset bridals! Having a day like this gives you the best of both worlds: your own adventure and time to celebrate with those who matter after.

North Idaho Elopement Photographer
Here's the sweetest review Kayla and Jace left for me - I had so much fun working with them!
"We just eloped in May and Karlie was our photographer again. She did such an incredible job making sure we had everything we needed for the day. She encouraged us to just enjoy the day and not worry about any stress. She helped us plan different activities to do and incorporate things we enjoy like fishing. Karlie was absolutely fantastic and got all the photos we could have hoped for. She was all in for our crazy adventure of doing our ceremony in the middle of the woods, to driving to another location to fish and have a picnic, then joining us to have a small reception with our family and friends. We couldn’t have asked for a better photographer to make our day so special!"
North Idaho is undoubtedly the perfect place for any intimate elopement - especially if you love fishing! Along with pristine fishing areas, the forests, lakes, wildlife, and less crowds make it the perfect location for your adventure elopement.
