An intimate adventure elopement on the Oregon coast! I am so stoked that I was able to photograph this adventure, much less also be a bridesmaid for my best friend, and style her hair for this special occasion! This Oregon coast elopement was for my best friend of 12 years. We met back in 5th grade, and became best friends when we were just 10 years old! Ever since I've known Mikalynn, she has had the biggest love and obsession with the ocean and marine biology. So just a couple months ago, their original plan for marriage took a turn, and they decided kind of last minute to elope on the Oregon coast, a place where part of her belongs!
Her now husband and her are both high school teachers. They went to the same high school, and both their dads are teachers at the high school we attended. They had originally planned to have a normal wedding here in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. But it wasn't what she had in mind for her dream wedding. So they made their dream wedding happen with all their closest family and friends (there was only 20 people total including me the photographer and the officiant). She wore hiking boots for the ceremony and nearly all the rest of us were in our bare feet, the sand was so warm and soft! We went hiking the morning of the ceremony, and after as well for some epic sunset pictures.
All of this and it was even better than they imagined! It was such an unforgettable experience, it was so beautiful and fun! Here are some highlights from their intimate Rockaway Beach adventure elopement!
Getting Ready Photos at a Beachfront Rental
We started this super fun day on the coast with getting ready at a gorgeous rental right on the beach! The room Miki got ready in had a door that went right out on the back deck with a breathtaking view of the ocean. Her sister did her makeup and I did her hair! Then Miki got all readied up with putting on socks and hiking boots!
First Look with Bridesmaids
Even though this was an elopement, Miki chose to have her closest best friends growing up be her bridesmaids! There's no rules for elopements, so if this is important to you, then do it! We all shared this sweet tender moment together before Miki did a first look with her family.

After the first looks with her family, then it was time for a first look with her soon to be husband! We all did our best not to cry at this moment!
Bridals on the Beach
Before the ceremony, we went out and took some fun beach bridals! We frolicked around in the sand for a little bit, and after this I let the bride and groom have a private moment alone together before the ceremony. I always make sure to include some time alone for you without a camera present just so you can soak in the day!

Next up it was time for the ceremony! Miki had both her parents walk her down to her intimate group waiting down on the beach for her.

Miki and Bob wanted to do something untraditional for their wedding day, so they made sure to include an epic sunset hike - complete with a hiking backpack and hiking sandals.
