Spring Forest Elopement in Priest Lake Idaho

You may have heard me say this before, but late spring and early summer is one of my absolute favorite times of the year to photograph elopements in Idaho! The mornings are crisp and cool, some snow may still be left on the mountaintops, and wildflowers are blooming in the lower elevations along swift flowing runoff in the creeks.

Ravyn and Alexander had their intimate day at the end of May, with some of the most stunning details like lush spring florals, a perfect spring color scheme, and scenery that can't be beat! Let's dive deeper into what made up their stunning spring forest elopement in Priest Lake, Idaho.

Morning Coffee by a Creek

The perfect way to get out some of the pre-wedding stress is to take some time together before getting ready! I absolutely loved that Ravyn wanted to take some time before the busy day started to have some coffee in cute mushroom mugs by a creek with Alex! This was the perfect time to take a few minutes to relax together, and of course who doesn't want coffee?! We even had a little visitor swim by, can you spot the little duck? So precious!

Getting Ready in Rustic Cabin

The girls all got ready at this stunning rustic cabin nestled in the trees! It was the perfect place for Ravyn to get into her dress by Believe Bride, and she got to share that special moment with her mom having her lace up the back of the dress. The guys got ready at a cabin through Lamb Creek Resort, which had an awesome back deck that looked out to the trees with a creek running through.

First Look on a Nature Trail

The weather was the perfect temperature on this day in May and everything was so green, lush, and in bloom! We scoped out this nature trail a few days before their wedding together and it was the perfect secluded place for their first look and forest bridals!

Whimsical Forest Bridals

Ravyn's bouquet by Rose and Blossom was the spring bouquet of my dreams! The pastel pinks and oranges complemented the cool green tones of the lush forest trail so well - I'm still drooling. I could have taken photos here for ages! Safe to say I definitely took some of my favorite images ever here. Who says Idaho can't look like the Redwoods?!

Intimate Backyard Ceremony

When my couples have a mix of alone adventure time and time with family, it's the best of both worlds and is some of my favorite to document! After their whimsical forest bridals, we headed back to her parent's property and had the most gorgeous ceremony. There was the prettiest floral backdrop, and all the colors were just a dream! Afterwards Ravyn and Alex of course had to get photos with her pup!

Relaxed Reception with Family

After the intimate ceremony, it was time for some good food, dancing, and of course cake! The weather decided to lightly sprinkle on us but everyone was prepared by putting up tents and I think a little rain never hurt anyone! It was a super chill time which was the perfect way to finish off this day.

Forest Elopement Inspiration

Idaho Elopement Photographer

Priest Lake is my all time favorite elopement location in North Idaho! Winter, spring, summer, or fall, Priest Lake is an elopement paradise - and this Spring Forest Elopement is no exception! If you're interested in eloping in Priest Lake, here's what Ravyn and Alexander had to say about working with me:

"Karlie is GREAT. She is who I recommend from here on out. She was calm, fun & made you feel like you could just be yourself. She helps you to remember what you really want when sometimes the planning of a wedding can lead you to feel like people pleasing! I love that she’s willing to do whatever. It’s not just every photographer that is willing to be outside with you, finding a perfect spot. She’s is there to make sure your pictures are perfect. Which she does take perfect pictures. I could not have been happier with my pictures. Honestly. I was so unsure about photographers - because it seems like the style is dark & moody. Karlie takes warm, beautiful, light pictures that are too pretty to even describe. Idaho is full of pretty places, & she finds them for her couples!"
